Grundlinger et al. show that Aspergillus fumigatus AFUA_3G03390 gene product, SidJ (aspfu-q4wf56) is involved in hydrolysis of siderophore fusarinine C. It is the first functionally characterized member of the family Duf_1749. Other strains: Aspergillus fumigatus (Sartorya fumigata) Neosartorya fumigata (strain CEA10 / CBS 144.89 / FGSC A1163) (Aspergillus fumigatus) . Neosartorya fischeri (strain ATCC 1020 / DSM 3700 / FGSC A1164 / NRR 181) (Aspergillus fischerianus). Not to be cofounded with SidJ Calmodulin-dependent glutamylase from Legionella pneumophila
