CommentAbhydrolase domain-containing protein 10, Mycophenolic acid acyl-glucuronide esterase, mitochondrial. Mycophenolic acid (MPA), the active metabolite of the immunosuppressant mycophenolate mofetil (MMF), is primarily metabolized by glucuronidation to a phenolic glucuronide (MPAG) and an acyl glucuronide (AcMPAG Mycophenolic-acid-acyl-glucuronide). AcMPAG, may be an immunotoxic, and is deglucuronidated by ABBHD10. ABHD10 is an S-depalmitoylase affecting redox homeostasis through peroxiredoxin-5 (Cao et al.). The name of this family should not be confounded with family Abhydrolase_10 which is quite far related and contains only sequences from bacteria and fungi
