Ulf Svante von Euler was born on February 7 1905 and died on March 9 1983. He was a Swedish physiologist and pharmacologist. He shared the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine in 1970 for his work on neurotransmitters with Julius Axelrod and Bernard Katz.
