Bacterial esterases. Fang et al. described a novel esterase from a marine metagenomic library exhibiting high salt tolerance. The enzyme is essentially active on pNP-C2 C4 and C6. The family is extracted from 6_AlphaBeta_hydrolase. (Family 20 Arpigny and Jaeger 1999)
