isoamyl-butyrate
Isoamyl butyrate (banana flavor) is found in alcoholic beverages. Isoamyl butyrate is present in fruit aromas, e.g. apricot, melon, mango etc. Also present in wines, eucalyptus oil and coconut oil. Isoamyl butyrate is used in fruit flavours. Substrate used for synthesis of flavor esters in food processing by esterification of alcools by lipases. Isopentyl butanoate serves as an aggregation pheromone for both sexes of C. tomentosicollis and a useful kairomone to attract the parasitoid in the management of C. tomentosicollis
