Esmolol
ardioselective beta-1 receptor blocker in the heart, which leads to decreased force and rate of heart contractions. It has a rapid onset but short duration of action These without causing significant intrinsic sympathomimetic or membrane stabilizing activities. Human carboxylesterase 1 isozyme (hCE1) is the main metabolic enzyme in both white blood cells and human liver. Acyl protein thioesterase 1 (APT1) responsible for cytosolic hydrolysis of esmolol in the liver.
